Do I need a house call or would it be better to bring my computer into the shop?
If you need help with networking then you obviously need a technician to come to your home. If you need some hardware upgrades such as more memory or another hard drive, we could come to your home, but it would be much cheaper to bring you computer into the shop.

If you suspect that you have viruses, then you really need to bring your computer into the shop. We can get it running like new for less than $100 if you bring it in. But trying to do this type of job at your home would be VERY expensive. The entire process can take 6 to 8 hours OR MORE, depending on your computer. Sure, there are some businesses, like the Geek Squad, who will come to your house and spend an hour or so, charge you $300, and tell you that your computer is virus free, and it may be; but our experience shows that more times than not those viruses come back within a few weeks. Their method is great for making company profits, but not the best way to rid a computer of viruses.

Here's what we do when you bring your computer into our shop:

• Backup your data files (pictures, music files, documents, other files.
• Format your hard drive, which removes everything; viruses and all.
• Reinstall the operating system.
• Install all updates, service packs, and patches for XP (there are currently over 100 of them; is your computer up-to-date?)
• Scan your backed-up data files for viruses and copy them back to your computer.
• Install free antivirus and anti-spyware software.
• Clean and inspect the inside of your desktop computer (dust can be a computer killer; we'll take care of it. Also, if a fan stops working, it can burn up your CPU, which means time for a new computer!)
